Sock yarn stash enhancement

Remember not so long ago, I was just lamenting about the fact that I had too much yarn........ well more yarn arrived at my doorstep today. (It's a sickness, I know).

Here is a picture of my current sock yarn stash - including 3 skeins of Opal Rainforest - Tiger, Zebra and Flamingo, some Regia and Schanenmayr stripey socks.....).

Question - how many pairs of socks have I knitted? Only one toddler pair so far. One adult pair is on the needles and going well. But what possessed me to order another 9 100g balls of sock yarn is really beyond me. (Actually, it was because they were only 3.75 - 4.50 Euros each) But here they are. (I have to be thankful for one thing, I haven't started buying the expensive sock yarn - like Lorna's Laces, Posh yarns, Fleece Artist, Socks that Rock - YET!)

Here's my progress on my current sock knitting. The yarn is Regia Mini Ringels in blue and the pattern is Tech Guy from Magknits. It's a fairly straightforward knit 3x1 ribbing. I've only ever knitted a heel flap, so I was interested in learning a short row heel. Very interesting and easy. Hopefully, I'll produce a PAIR of socks soon.

LOL... I'm the same with sock experience and disproportionate amount of sock yarn stash. Only I started buying cherry tree hill and louet gems opal. I just got off my butt to work on my 3rd pair of socks; just made 2 short row heels. Very interesting. I'm making myself knit with the sock stash by signing up for Knittin' Mom's Sock-a-month2. Check it out! http://knittinmom.blogspot.com/2006/07/sock-month-2.html

ha ha, that's you chick, you're hooked!
Doesn't matter that your actual sock knitting is as yet somewhat limited, you have caught the bug and you will be buying sock wool as if there's no tomorrow. (You will use it too, don't worry).
knitting socks is a sickness like malaria, once you have it it keeps reccurring. (Actually I don't know if that's true of malaria any more, but it used to be).

You'll be pleased to know that sock yarn doesn't count as stash so you can have as much as you like!

Oooohhhh look at all that lovely sock stash:0) Sock's are just so addictive, aren't they?? Also had a wee visit to your stash blog - what gorgeous Cascade yarn! Would love to know how you find it to knit with. And what real cuties your children are! Do you knit much for them?

I just started knitting socks recently too, and I must say I'm loving the short row heels! Although I've yet to complete a pair as well...lol. Ever heard of the curse of the one-sock syndrome (OSS)? ;)

Beautiful yarns! I guess it's easier to buy sock yarn, just need one or two skeins. ;)
