Music in 1989

I saw this meme on Ruth’s blog and thought it was a great idea to do it as well. (if I can figure out how to strike things out!)
So you take the top 50 records from the year you were 18 from this
website, post the list and then -
bold the ones you liked,
strike the ones you disliked
and italicize the ones you knew but didn’t particularly like or dislike.
The ones you don’t know will still be in normal text.

I remember 1989 very well. I was going through a long torturous on-off long distance relationship with my first love (at the start of the year), taking my A-levels (in the middle of the year) and coming over to the UK for the first time for my University years and meeting my husband (towards the end of the year). Gosh, that was so long ago........

Here's my 50 songs.

RIDE ON TIME Black Box - Reminds me of my first taste of clubs in the UK

SWING THE MOOD Jive Bunny & The Mastermixers

ETERNAL FLAME The Bangles

TOO MANY BROKEN HEARTS Jason Donovan not a Jason/ early Kylie fan

SOMETHING'S GOTTEN HOLD OF MY HEART Marc Almond featuring Gene Pitney - This song really reminds me of coming over to the UK.

and Stock, Aitken & Waterman - This song reminds me of being fairly drunk and singing along with new found friends at Uni.

MISS YOU LIKE CRAZY Natalie Cole. This song reminds me of my long distance relationship with the ex. He was in Australia and I was in KL.

WOULDN'T CHANGE A THING Kylie Minogue. I don't remember this song either. I probably didn't like it.

THIS TIME I KNOW IT'S FOR REAL Donna Summer

DON'T KNOW MUCH Linda Ronstadt featuring Aaron Neville - I always associate this song with meeting my husband, lots of slow dancing and snogging! A lot of happy memories!

Haha!! We have the same taste in 80's music!! I loved Madonna, Bangles, Roy Orbison. I was also a Prince fan. And even though I hate being sappy, deep down inside, I loved all of Richard Marx songs. =)

I think I spent most of 1989 in a shell suit *shudders* (hey stop laughing - I was 9!)

Loved the music though.
